Living Benefits

What are living benefits?

There are some special benefits tied to our life Insurance solutions provided by optional riders. We call them Living Benefits, & we have been providing them year in and year out. Living Benefits can provide MUCH NEEDED cash should a qualifying terminal, chronic or critical illness or critical injury occur, or if your objective is to have an income that you can’t outlive.

The best way to get an understanding of the AMAZING impact Living Benefits can have is to hear from policy owners who have actually used them. Here’s a quick breakdown:

Living Benefits Explained

The Living Benefits Riders, or Accelerated Benefit Riders (ABRs) help provide peace of mind at a time when the LAST thing you need to worry about is money. It allows the policy owner to have access to an early (accelerated) payout of the death benefits within your policy if the insured is diagnosed with a qualifying illness or injury.

It comes down to one simple question:

Do you want the option to access your death benefit when you need it most, or not?

Life insurance you can use before you die.

Most people purchase life insurance to provide a legacy of financial security at the time of their death. But doesn’t it make sense for the benefits to extend and be available for the difficult financial times they have to face if a chronic, critical or terminal illness precedes death? The industry calls the benefit an “Accelerated Death Benefit Rider.” We refer to it as real Living Benefits.

Most of us are in this profession because of a sincere desire to help others in a manner that is both unique and timely. Living Benefits is one of the reasons why the Secure Life family of agents is so passionate about what we do every day.

The Living Benefits Rider is called an “Accelerated Death Benefit Rider” but we refer to them as Living Benefits. This policy rider provides the consumer (insured) a financial benefit when faced with a critical, chronic or terminal illness. These benefits are made available to the insured and their family during difficult times of illness. Secure Life Financial specializes in providing the life insurance carriers that offer Living Benefits Riders.

Are you still protecting your family and finances with the “old kind” of life insurance that only pays out if you die?

Living Benefits life insurance is the new, evolved kind of life insurance. With Living Benefits, you have the power to accelerate your death benefit while you’re still living if you suffer a heart attack, cancer diagnosis, stroke, or any other Critical, Chronic, or Terminal illness. This ability can help save your financial life, and helps protect you from the cause of 60% of the bankruptcies in the U.S. every year – medical bankruptcy following a critical illness.

Health insurance alone doesn’t cover all things for all people

In fact 62% of bankruptcies are due to a critical illness and 75% of those who filed for bankruptcy had a health insurance policy.*
Men have a 1 in 2 risk of developing cancer during their lifetime and women have a 1 in 3 risk,** yet nearly two-thirds of cancer-related costs are NOT medical.***

Our life insurance has living benefits; benefits you do not have to die to use!

Most life insurance policies just pay out at death. however, that is not how our plans work.

If you experience a terminal, chronic or critical illness, you can access your death benefit while living; even if you experience a heart attack, cancer, stroke, ALS, major organ transplant, the inability to perform 2 out of 6 activities of daily living (toileting, transferring, bathing, eating, etc.) and many other ailments.

Types of benefits:

Pays a lump sum benefit should you suffer from a triggering illness such as cancer, heart attack, stroke, Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS), blindness due to diabetes, kidney failure or major organ transplant, and more!

Pays a monthly benefit should you become diagnosed as chronically ill and unable to perform two daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, or due to cognitive impairment. This benefit is paid annually (up to 24% of your death benefit). Policy must be in-force for 2 years.

Pays a benefit if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness resulting in life expectancy of less than 12 months (24 months in some states). This can be used for experimental medicine, prepare for final expenses or any other purpose you feel necessary.

The products we offer provide a COMBINED solution that you can afford to have, but cannot afford to be without. These benefits can help protect your plans for today –and tomorrow. We like to refer to it as “Life Insurance You Don’t Have to Die to Use.”

Our living benefits are included at no additional cost on Term, Universal Life, and Index Universal Life insurance policies.

WE OFFER MORE THAN DEATH INSURANCE – WE OFFER LIFE INSURANCE FOR LIFE.
